WHAT AN EGO!
By John Ingrisano on Jan 6, 2009 in Entrepreneuralism
I’ve been called a control freak and an egoist. I generally reply, “Thank you.” I’ve also had people try to get me to make decisions by committee. The result has always been warm and fuzzy failure.
Any entrepreneur must have a healthy dose of self-love, confidence, a my-way-or-the-highway sense of conviction, and an instinct for knowing when the rest of the herd is wrong. He also must have an overwhelming desire to succeed. Most people do not have a clue about what that means.
My point: Do your homework. Get advice. But then realize that it’s up to you and you alone to make the key decisions, to take the risks and to make your mark. Oh, and if you’re good at what you do, good for you. No humble pie. Be proud, damn proud!
Work hard. Make money. Have fun. — jri

people must achieve, and they are driven by an
intense need to be Somebody.”
