Hi John,

It is no wonder why the popularity of this blog post is rather high... because this post rocks! ;)

I was recently reading James Brausch's blog and he was talking about how to create a successful internet business. This post of yours was a great complimentary/addition to what I read.

Ethics start at the top. Put the best interests of your customers first. Develop a code of ethics.

I'll keep these three rules in mind. Thank you again, John.

Ann, thanks for your comment. Yes, trust and integrity are key. Many people can sell someone something once...and then run for the door. I respect people who hang onto the same clients for decades. That says a lot about them.

Be well. Work hard. Take care. John

I read James Brausch's blog every day, and one of his major themes is personal and business integrity, keeping commitments, keeping your word and even making plans for forgiveness in case of need. One of his tenets is that you don't hang out with people who don't share your values. He also talks about taking care of yourself and your family, not selling your soul to your business.

Lance, thanks for the feedback. A friend's grandfather went bust in the Great Depression, leaving debts in the wake of his business failure. A lot of folks did, but he spent years paying each and every one back. Have to admire that.

I agree: trust is the most important part of every relationship -- personal and business. J

Great post John. It is so important to be trustworthy in your business relationships. If you are not trustworthy, you will be eventually found out. Stay honest, work hard, and you will reap the benefits in the end!
