Politics & Business Do Not Mix
By John Ingrisano on Oct 2, 2006 in Hot Biz Tips
“May I put this poster for candidate so & so
(fill in your own local so & so’s name) in your window?” Unless
it’s your mother running for office (and even then think twice), the answer
should be a polite but firm no.
The midterm elections are coming up. Stay out of them…or
at least keep your business out of them. Politics and business make lousy
bedfellows. As a businessperson, you need to keep your political views
off your front lawn and out of your showroom window. Yes, you have a
right to express your views. I personally have very strong ones
myself. But it’s always been my unwavering position that business and
politics do not mix.
Yes, vote. Yes, argue over drinks. But
no, no, no, do not let anyone use your business and your profits for their own
political gain.
