Get Your Phone Messages Returned

When leaving a voice message for business or individual prospects, after identifying yourself and your phone number, one way to assure your messages are returned is to say: “I’m calling because I understand you’re the person to speak to about…” then hang up the phone mid-sentence. The person will assume you’ve been cut off and will call you back to hear what’s at the end of that sentence.

Bill, this cracks me up. I know some clients and prospects love to be chased. As I told one client recently, who was blowing a major deadline because she never returned phone calls: “Sorry, but I already raised my children. When you want to get this project done, call me.” Then I went on to work with serious clients, ones who actually wanted to accomplish something.
Ah, the joys of entrepreneurship!
