No Excuses: It’s Your Fault!
By John Ingrisano on Jan 9, 2007 in Quote of the Day
If you are a manager or business owner and you have lousy employees who show up when they want to, steal supplies, lack motivation, and just generally underperform, you need to rethink your entire approach to management.
First, fire deadwood. Second, hire quality…and pay them a good wage. Third, lay out the rules and job responsibilities so they are understood. Fourth, train them so they do what you want them to do, and they do it your way. Fifth, supervise them; even Harvard MBAs and the salesman of the month need guidance and supervision.
The bottom line: A quality operation, with quality employees means you are doing something right. It does not happen by accident. — JRIngrisano
