Quick to Hire?

It has been my experience  that when a business sets out to take on a new hire, the company powers-that-be don’t have a clue what they expect this new person to be, do, possess, or offer.  They draft a job description that is more imagination than fact, go through some obligatory interviews and then make an offer to a complete stranger, usually the one closest at hand when they decide to make their decision.

Suggestion:  Start interviewing for a position that is not even open yet.  Keep looking and talking and interviewing and checking references.  Do your homework.  This hiring stuff is important!

Work hard.  Make money.  Have fun.  — JRIngrisano (The Freestyle Entrepreneur)

more time and effort is spent evaluating
the cost and benefits of a new copy
machine than a new employee."
