One of the things I absolutely love about being in business — no, it’s not the constant worrying about money, the frustration with customers or even the daily headaches of trying to referee and herd cat-like employees — is the thrill and terror of being in charge of my own destiny (barring God or an errant bus having any say in the matter, of course).
Nobody can screw up my day but me. On the other hand, nobody can make that sale or wrap up that thrill-of-a-lifetime deal but me. Nobody can say when to sit, stay, roll over…or gallop furiously at top speed across the tundra of opportunity…BUT ME!
